PRAYER CHAIN – Are you or someone you care about having a difficult time, an illness, facing a difficult decision or just feel some extra prayers could help? Do you know there are members of Bethlehem wanting to remember you or your loved ones in their prayers? We have a group of volunteers called the “Prayer Chain”. You may ask to be added to the prayers by
   1. completing the prayer request card you will find in the pew rack and placing it in the offering plate, or giving it to an usher.
   2. asking the pastor or church secretary to contact the Prayer Chain by calling the church office, 423-0438.
The Prayer Chain invites all members of the congregation to be part of the chain. You may sign up on the board in the narthex or phone the church office, 423-0438, and leave your name and phone number. Someone will contact you with more information.
PRAYER REQUEST FORMS are available in the narthex and the church office. If you have a special prayer need, you may fill one out and place it in the offering plate, or leave it at the office.

THANK YOU Bethlehem Lutheran Church members and friends for the prayers, cards, calls and conversations before and after my surgery. Everything went well, and I’m on to a quick recovery.

Dear Friends: On behalf of the Board of Directors and Volunteer Staff of the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank, we wish to thank you for the generous gifts of the food donations. Every gift makes a difference to those who are struggling to feed their families.
The Food Bank is proud of the fact that we are 100% volunteer staffed and have been for 28 years. We are also proud of the community we live in and the surrounding communities that make our services possible. We are always in need of gifts from caring people such as you so that we may continue to help those in need around us.
As a note of interest, the Food Bank distributed food boxes to 3,919 families, providing 111,708 meals to 9,309 individuals in the last year. Unfortunately, during these current economic times we do not expect to see these numbers diminish. With your generous help we will be able to continue our efforts to provide emergency assistance to residents of North Iowa.
                                                                     Sincerely,
Al Bock, President, Board of Directors

WE NEED YOUR HELP – In April the LWML will be hosting our annual Salad Luncheon on Thursday, April 15, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Every year we are having more difficulty finding people who are able to volunteer to help us serve this event. All proceeds from our Salad Luncheon go to missions, which many times have been in our own church, youth group, or preschool-daycare. We are asking for volunteers from our congregation to help us this day for a couple of hours. Without your help, we are not sure we will be able to continue with this event, due to lack of enough people to serve, set tables, pour coffee, etc. Please prayerfully consider volunteering if at all possible. If you can help us out, please leave your name at the office or contact Diane Djuren. God’s Blessing to you. And Thank You.

COME ENJOY the flavors of the Big Easy! The LYF will be serving its annual Sweetheart Dinner on February 21, with pre-meal entertainment starting at 5:15 p.m. and serving starting at 5:30. We will be serving French Dip sandwiches, lettuce salad, cheesy potato casserole and New Orleans style King’s cake. LYF will be providing some after dinner entertainment, but are looking for a few more great acts. If you have a hidden talent or just have something you want to share, be sure to sign up across from the church office. We look forward to seeing you there!
